Welcome to
SCOPE Initiatives
SCOPE serves as a resource for health systems and the community to provide cultural competence resources to providers, and health and wellness related information to families. Ongoing parent-to-parent mentoring facilitates mutual support and understanding which provides a safe space and introduces parents to others with similar challenges and needs. A Parent Support Specialist connects families to needed resources through the Parent Empowerment Program designed to build self-advocacy skills and training for the first year of a new diagnosis. Regular workshops and trainings address felt needs of parents of children with special needs (ex. IEP education, toilet training). Inclusive social events provide safe spaces for children and families to socialize, to have fun and make friends in a judgment-free zone.
