  • SCOPE serves as a vital resource for educators, providers, health systems and the community to help them provide culturally sensitive care to South Asian families of children with disabilities. 
  • SCOPE supports families directly with parent-to-parent mentoring through its various programs, provides mutual support and understanding which creates a safe space for parents to connect to others with similar challenges and needs.
  • SCOPE provides ongoing workshops and training to address felt needs of parents of children with special needs (ex. IEP education, toilet training).

  • Vision: Our vision is to build an inclusive and empowered community where South Asian families of children with disabilities are educated, supported, and celebrated, enabling every child to thrive with dignity and purpose.
  • Mission: Our mission is to empower South Asian families navigating developmental and physical disabilities by providing education, resources, and culturally sensitive support to break stigma, foster inclusion, and optimize every child's potential.

Our Approach (How We Help)

SCOPE serves as a resource for health systems and the community to provide cultural competence resources to providers, and health and wellness related information to families. Ongoing parent-to-parent mentoring facilitates mutual support and understanding which provides a safe space and introduces parents to others with similar challenges and needs.

A Parent Support Specialist connects families to needed resources through the Parent Empowerment Program designed to build self-advocacy skills and training for the first year of a new diagnosis. Regular workshops and training address felt needs of parents of children with special needs (ex. IEP education, toilet training).
